About
The Ellis Building is a historic event and creative space located in East Vancouver. Built in 1907, the building has lived many lives, first as a railroad worker rooming house and furniture store, and later as the home of decades of custom metalwork. In 2016, it was carefully reimagined as a multi use creative hub while preserving the character and craftsmanship that make it so special.
Today, the Ellis Building is home to artist studios, workshops, and unique gathering spaces designed to bring people together. The ground floor event space features a warm, saloon style interior with rich wooden details, a classic Western inspired bar, and layered seating areas that overlook the main floor. The atmosphere is intimate, welcoming, and timeless, making it well suited for everything from private celebrations and weddings to performances, film productions, and community events.
The space is fully wheelchair accessible, located at street level, and easily reached by transit, with a bus stop directly in front of the building and close proximity to major transit routes. A sub level karaoke lounge and additional production, audio visual, and event support services are available as optional add ons, allowing each event to be customized to fit its vision.
Rooted in history and shaped by creativity, the Ellis Building continues to be a place where stories are shared, ideas are sparked, and memorable experiences unfold.
